Games to Gaza!
10:20am Saturday 21st January 2012

Two women are hoping to bring hope to thousands by taking the Olympic spirit to Palestine.
Games to Gaza (G2G) 2012 is a two week summer project where a team from the UK will travel to Gaza.
It has been organised and managed by Sadia Sajid and Rizwana Isma’il.
Rizwana of Preston said, “Team UK will work closely with the Palestinian community in Gaza to host a fun summer camp for the children".
Rizwana said, “G2G will facilitate a range of exciting workshops including a mixture of education and recreational activities such as sports, arts, crafts and creative writing.
“These have been inspired by the Olympic Games, which will be celebrated in London at the same time. The aim is to celebrate childhood and create as many smiles as possible.”
Team UK is made-up of a group of young professionals with a range of backgrounds including; Teachers, Sports therapists, Community workers, Charity co-ordinators, Youth workers and Trainers. All of whom have united from various corners of the country with one goal in mind: to help take Gaza from tears to laughter.
Sadia said, “This project is particularly aimed at the traumatised, the orphans, the children of detainees, the disabled, the poor and the underprivileged children of Gaza. These children are to be the primary focus of the project.
“Day in, day out, they take life's struggles in their stride with an admirable amount of courage, strength and resilience.”
